Visit us

City Dojo is located in the first floor of the big yellow Animates building at 132 Hutt Road, Kaiwharawhara (entrance from the carpark corner).

We’re a Riai Aikido Wellington dojo

See the Riai Aikido Wellington page for our fee structure and other details.  Membership covers training also at our other dojo at Belmont.

History

Riai Aikido Wellington was established in 1993 by Henry Lynch sensei.  City dojo is the result of a merger of our Mt Cook and Wellington North (Rewa Rewa) dojos, both of which have now closed.  Before then, we operated from Crofton Downs school, and before that Ngaio town hall.

In 2016 we went into partnership with the Wellington Judo Academy to open the City Dojo centre, alternating training times.
