37th Riai Aikido Friendship Festival

Saturday 29th and Sunday 30th September 2018

The annual Riai Aikido Friendship Festival is a well established Aikido tradition that attracts many enthusiastic Aikidoka from many different styles and parts of the country and overseas. The festival usually runs over a weekend and is open to all. The festival provides a relaxed and friendly atmosphere where people can come together to share and expand their Aikido.  In 2018 we will be celebrating the 37th annual Riai Aikido Friendship Festival!

6th Dan, Aikikai
Henry Lynch (6th Dan) started his Aikido journey over 45 years ago and has been helping people learn Aikido for over 30 years. He has also studied Judo, Kendo and Shrinjo-kempo. Sensei Henry is the Chief Instructor and Head of the Riai Aikido Association.

Dave Butler

8th Dan Jujutsu, 4th Dan Yoshinkan Aikido
Hanshi Dave began studying Jujutsu in the 1960’s. Became a 15 year student of Toshishiro Obata of the International Shinkendo Federation and the Kokusai Aikibujutsu Renmei in the USA. Simon Puffett

6th Dan, Aikido Shinryukan
Simon sensei began Aikido in 1990 under Shihan Nobuo Takase 7th Dan at the Aikido Shinryukan Hombu Dojo in Auckland Central. When:
Saturday 29th September 9:30am-4:30pm
Sunday 30th September 9:00am-2.30pm

Where:
Michael Park Rudolf Steiner School,55 Amy Street, Ellerslie, Auckland.
There is plenty of parking available at the school.

Cost:
For the full 2 day Festival, $165.00 if paid and registered by 30 August 2018. After 30 August 2018 the registration fee will be $230.00.
Day rates are $130.00 for Saturday and $90.00 for Sunday.

Meals:
Morning and afternoon teas are included in the registration fee.
A large number of lunch options are close by or bring your own lunch.

PLEASE NOTE: Early Bird Registrations close on 30th August 2018. After 30th August the registration fee is $230.00 and you will be placed on a waiting list if the 37th Festival is fully booked ..…so be quick for your spot!

The 37th Riai Aikido Friendship Festival promises to be one of exploration, learning, renewing friendships and making new friends on and off the mat. This is a special event in the New Zealand Aikido calendar and everyone is welcome regardless of affiliation or how long you have been practicing Aikido.
